Kind, ethical and clinically informed dog behaviour support
Our consultation packages are designed to give you more than a one-off appointment. We take time to understand your dog’s behaviour, health, environment and daily life, then provide a tailored behaviour plan and up to 2 months of follow-up support while you begin putting the plan into practice.
We work as a clinical team, including veterinary behaviour input, and we liaise with your referring vet from the start.
For local clients: For local clients in the Lincoln and Nottinghamshire area (within 30 mins of LN6 9NQ), home visits (where suitable) are offered at no additional cost. Depending on the bundle selected, support may include a combination of in-person or Zoom consultation, phone/email/WhatsApp guidance, house visits, practical 1-2-1 training support and discounted group sessions, depending on your dog’s needs and the behaviour being worked on.
What your consultation fee includes.
We can offer direct claims through insurance, as well as payment plans.
Each consultation includes:
• review of your pre-consultation questionnaire and veterinary history
• an initial behaviour consultation, usually lasting 1–2 hours
• input from our clinical team, including veterinary behaviour expertise
• consideration of possible medical influences on your dog’s behaviour
• a detailed written behaviour plan tailored to you, your dog and your home
• communication with your referring vet
Our standard support fee of £595, then also includes
• up to 3 hours of follow up support by phone, email, zoom, to be used within 2 months of the initial consultation
• for local clients, practical in-person support may also be included within the 3 hours of follow up where suitable
•attendance at in-person group sessions can be arranged at a discounted rate
Our intensive support fee of £945 includes
• up to 5 hours of follow up support by phone, email, zoom, to be used within 2 months of the initial consultation
• for local clients, practical in-person support may also be included within the 5 hours of follow up where suitable
• Whatsapp support over the 2 months follow up period
•Attendance at any in-person group sessions e.g. Gruffers, is included within the 2 months follow up period
• where we feel it may be useful, a physio assessment can be included at no extra cost to help identify possible pain or mobility concerns
Support after the consultation: Behaviour change takes time, and most families need support once they begin putting the plan into practice. That is why your packages includes up to 2 months of follow-up support.
During this time, we can help you make sense of progress, adjust the plan where needed, answer questions, and support you with the practical realities of living with and helping your dog.
Additional costs to be aware of
Sometimes follow-up veterinary tests, procedures or medication may be recommended. These would usually be provided by your own veterinary practice and are not included in our consultation fee.
Fees and insurance
Our standard support behaviour consultation is £595
This includes the consultation, preparation, written behaviour plan, veterinary communication, and up to 3 hours of support over 2 months from the date of the initial consultation, while you put the plan into practice.
Our intensive support behaviour consultation is £945. This includes the consultation, preparation, written behaviour plan, veterinary communication and more intensive support in the form of WhatsApp support and up to 5 hours of support over 2 months from the date of the initial consultation, attendance at suitable group classes during the 2 months follow up period and a physio assessment (where indicated).
If your dog is insured for behaviour support, you may be able to claim for some or all of the cost depending on your policy. Please see our insurance page for more details.
Revisit consultations for dogs are priced at £495. These can be booked up to 6 months after the date of the initial behaviour consultation. The standard support revisit fee includes up to 3 hours follow up support from 2 months following the revisit consultation. Intensive support revisit consultations (support as per the intensive initial consultation) are priced at £845.
Please note that Clients of the Veterinary Hospital, Lincoln, receive a £50 discount on the initial consultation fee when paying us directly. We will subtract this from your invoice.
What do I need to do to get booked?
How to start
1. Complete the pre-consultation questionnaire
2. Ask your vet to complete the veterinary referral form, or let us know if you would like us to request this.
3. Once we have the forms and veterinary history, we can arrange your appointment.
If the presenting problem includes multiple pets, we will need referrals and history forms completing for each pet but the fee is for the consultation, not per pet. I.e. if the problem is aggressive behaviour between 2+ dogs within the home the fee is £595 or £945 (depending on support selected) for the consultation not £595/£945 per dog.
Please do not put yourself, your dog, another person or another animal at risk to capture footage. A relaxed video of your dog at home or on a walk is often more useful than footage of the problem behaviour.

Do I need a vet referral for a dog behaviour consultation?
Yes. We work on veterinary referral so that your dog’s health, medical history and any possible pain-related or medical influences can be considered.
Is the consultation online or in person?
We provide in-person and online dog behaviour consultations for clients in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas. Fully remote support is also available across the UK and internationally.
Where consultations begin online, it allows us to take a detailed history without putting your dog under unnecessary pressure. For local clients, in-person practical support or home visits may be included where suitable. Often if we start online with a local client, we then follow up in person.
What dog behaviour problems do you help with?
We support dogs showing behaviours such as aggression, reactivity, anxiety, fearfulness, resource guarding, separation-related behaviours, over-arousal, handling difficulties and behaviour changes that may have a medical or pain-related component.
What is included in the fee?

Can I claim through pet insurance?
